Bond of life

Winner of the favourite game of UQAM jury award. 

The Game 

Bond of life is a coop puzzle game for two players where each player controls one of the mummies of Radames and Aida, the two main characters from the opera Aida. Each player is on a different path and they can never be on the same side. To escape the tomb, they both have to work together to activate a series of mechanisms that will help them reach the end of the level. To do so, they have to remain within a certain distance from each other. Being too far apart means the death of both of the players.

Task

The entire team participated to the elaboration of the core mechanics and the general aesthetic. My main task on this game was to integrate the main features, such as the respawning, the dash and the movement, using Unreal blueprints. It was our first time doing a game jam using Unreal Engine 4 and we didn't know how to create 4 different character controllers, but we managed to make the game playable with 4 players and implement all of our game mechanics.
